Hi, I am starting a new project called ‘ Wisdom Youth Alliance’.

My vision for the Wisdom Youth Alliance is to create a safe environment where children can come together on a regular basis all year around to talk about life’s lessons, which normally would not be addressed at school or home. I believe art and imagination play a big role in how to handle daily emotional stresses and self empowerment. Community is forever important especially at this time of our lives.

The concept of Wisdom Youth Alliance was inspired by our T.V legend Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. With this project, I will be able to review the current situations happening in our daily lives such as children and family facing deportation, divorce, illnesses, incarceration, death and other challenges. Art and communication skills will play a big role in the meetings along with other proactive methods on how to self regulate and reduce stresses brought on from daily challenges. Methods included are guided meditation, yoga, breath work and awareness techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique along with art and video projects.

Each meeting will start with a talking circle followed by a guided meditation, breath work and finishing the meeting with an assignment of an art project of the week!

This youth group will meet every two weeks for 2 hour.
